NBDB Book Club presents Venus in Orbit

The NBDB Book Club and Bigkas Pilipinas present Venus in Orbit, a night of spoken word poetry and music by women on November 13, 9PM at Bacci Ristorante in Makati City.

 

For details, call Bacci at 828-2235. Entrance is free and there's an open mic session after the program.

National Children’s Book Awards 2012
The National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY)  proudly present the entries for the 2nd National Children’s Book Awards. The awarding ceremony will be conducted at the Mind Museum, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Saturday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. The winners will receive trophies and cash awards.

This prestigious conduct of recognizing and honoring the literary works for children authored by Filipinos in 2010 and 2011 is a much awaited event among children’s literature lovers and kids as well.

NBDB Celebrates National Children's Book Day 2012 with Lisa Macuja-Elizalde
This year’s celebration will be launched with a storytelling session on 17th of July. The Philippines’ Prima Ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde will read a storybook to a group of grade schoolers. The registration will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Event Center, Lower Ground Floor, Building A of SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for the NBDB Trust Fund Grant worth P200,000

The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is now accepting applications for grant for 2013.

 

Manuscript/s for books should contain any of the following topics:

 

1) Habitat Rehabilitation and Social Impacts;

2) A Novel or book-length literary work originally written in Cebuano; and

3) Documentation/codification of any traditional knowledge.

Call for submissions for consideration in The NBDB List of Highly Recommended Supplementary Material


In its effort to promote the use of quality books and materials, the NBDB, in partnership with the Department of Education, will come up with a list of highly recommended supplementary books and materials. Teaming up with the Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (NOTED), the members of which are recipients of the Metrobank Foundation’s Outstanding Teacher Award, the NBDB invites publishers to submit to the NBDB books they would like to be considered in this list.
