| Two Pulitzer Prize-Winning Writers Topbill 2nd Manila International Literary Festival |

Organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB) in celebration of Philippine Book Development Month, the 2nd Manila International Literary Festival
featured two Pulitzer Prize winners, namely; Edward Jones (The Known World, 2004) and Junot Diaz (The Brief Wonderful Life of Oscar Wao, 2008). Aside from the two writers, the Literary Festival also attracted several noted international publishers like Ravi Mirchadandani of Atlantic Books-UK, Rachel Kahan of G.P. Putnam & Sons-New York, Priya Doraswamy and Jayapriya Vasudevan of Jacaranda Press-India, and fictional writer teacher Holly Thomson of Yokohama City University.
The three-day LitFest, themed “The Great Philippine Book Café,” featured more than 30
literary workshops conducted by over 70 speakers with topics ranging from “How to Get the
Young to Read” to “How to be a Bestseller” to “In Search of the Next Great Philippine
Novel.” This year’s Lit Fest was held at the Ayala Museum from November 16 to 18.
