Shadow of Doubt by Marites Vitug

On April 16 at 2pm, the NBDB Book Club will be hosting a discussion of Marites Vitug’s Shadow of Doubt: Probing the Supreme Court, the much-talked about book about the inner workings of the Supreme Court. Released just recently, the book aims to shed light on the country’s judiciary process and probes the alleged manipulations by some members of the magistrates in the decision-making of the Supreme Court.

I bought this Book and have been reading through it during the Holy Week. As a lawyer, my initial reaction is that the content is pretty much well known already among the legal community. However, what sets this book apart is that it contained a lot of well-researched personal anecdotes about the justices and its heretofore secret processes. Knowing the Supreme Court from the outside and from a practicioner's point of view, we now know the WHY it is so. I would also like to see the sources.
